DIY Pallet Dog Bed

Our dog Kona hates to sleep on the floor.  She has the pillow style dog beds.  The dogs were always moving them around the bedroom and making a mess.  I saw this on Pinterest and decided to make one. We took a pallet and added slats where the gaps were.  Then I painted it.  I like to pick up “Oops Paint” anytime I go to Home Depot.  It is paint that wasn’t tinted to the customer’s liking.  There are all kinds of colors, a variety of finishes, and different sizes of cans.  We tossed her big pillows on top and BAM! We had a place for her and she stopped moving the pillows around.  Currently we have two large crates sitting on the pallet and that is working out great too.

This isnt DIY at all this is just a pallet and you put the dog pillow on top. You didnt even modify it that I can see.

Well, since we need to get technical, I white-washed the pallet before I just put a pillow on it. Bam! You have a dog bed. I am sorry if you think DIY means you have an extreme amount of effort. We were lucky to have a pallet available that did not need any ‘work’. No slats needed to be added or replaced. ‘Re-puporse’, ‘DIY’, ‘upcycle’….whatever you want to ‘call it’ does not matter, nor does how difficult the project is. Our dogs like it. It was easy to do and solved a problem quickly. Those two things are important on a homestead.
